The By-Laws Committee met on September 9, 1981, at the Nebraska Medical Association office and drafted by-laws, a dues schedule and a slate of officers and directors. Article II of the NSAE By-Laws states that the purpose of NSAE “shall be to advance the efficiency of its membership through the interchange of ideas and fellowship, to promote the interests of the associations and societies its membership represents, and to advance professional association management.”
On October 1, 1981, association executives met at the Lincoln Hilton Hotel and approved the By-Laws, elected officers and directors, and named the organization Nebraska Society of Association Executives.
Today, NSAE membership consists of 150+ Professional (associations, chambers of commerce, convention and visitor bureaus) members and 50+ Associate (supplier firms or entities) members.
Monthly luncheon meetings, seminars, and social events provide members with educational programs to enhance association management skills and competencies as well as providing networking opportunities among the members. NSAE luncheon programs and seminars offer the opportunity for sponsorships by NSAE members.
The NSAE printed membership directory serves as a valuable resource for NSAE members as well as providing the opportunity for NSAE members to advertise their service or product. Complimentary copies of the NSAE Directory are distributed to Nebraska’s Governor, state officers and state senators, as well as to our Nebraska U.S. Senators and Congressional Representatives. The directory is updated every Fall and distributed to members in October.
